Visitors can rent kayaks and paddleboards, from Adventure Times Rentals and the Frisco Bay Marina offers additional access to water toys, including pontoon boats.

The lake is framed by 14,000-foot peaks (the Tenmile and Gore ranges) and offers a “beachy” feel at high altitude.  The original town of Dillon was moved and subsequently flooded between 1961 and 1963 to create the reservoir. Dillon Amphitheater, a popular venue right on the water’s edge, has free summer concerts and incredible views.  The lake is stocked with 50,000 rainbow trout annually and is one of the few places to fish for Artic Char.

Webster and Red Cone Pass Trail

WEBSTER AND RED CONE PASS TRAILA 17.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Dillon, Colorado that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. It is an excellent trail for ATV touring in Summit County, CO. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash. This trail is perfect for families and groups that wants to enjoy the views and have fun at the trail.

Georgia Pass Trail

A 24.2 mile out and back trail located near Jefferson, Colorado that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. This trail is perfect for families who like to explore nature, adventure and history. You will see old cabins, gold minds and wild life.

BLUE RIDGE (WILLIAMS PEAK)Blue Ridge offers amazing views of both Grand and Summit Counties as it follows the county line up past Williams Peak. From the overlook you can see Green Mountain Reservoir, Eagles Nest Wilderness Area and, off in the distance, Dillon Reservoir. This trail is for families or costumers who like more soft adventures and relaxing during their trip. There’s a beautiful view of the lake and wild life.

Hiking in Breckenridge

Surrounded by rivers and lakes, Breckenridge encourages outdoor enthusiasts to get wet and stay active. Hop on a paddleboard or kayak on Maggie Pond, or try fly fishing on the Blue River — summer’s warm weather makes these water activities especially refreshing and scenic.

Breckenridge has trails from easy 30 minute walks to multi day trails such as the Four Pass Loop.  To search for local trails, visit Breckenridge Trail Finder, a local website. The Town has hundreds of access posts or “trail portals” located throughout town, providing public trail access from downtown to the extensive backcountry trail system. Popular local trailheads include Carter Park (300 S. High Street), French Gulch (0562 French Gulch Road), Tiger Road (3000 Tiger Road), near the Stephen C. West Ice Arena (189 Boreas Pass Road), and in many other locations.

The easiest trail to access from Main Street is the Pence Miller Trail via Mountain Thunder Drive (50 Mountain Thunder Drive), one block west of Main Street. Carter Park (300 S. High Street) also offers immediate in-town access to the trail network.

Boreas Pass

Boreas Pass is the most accessible hike in the Breckenridge area if you are looking for a great view of the Blue River Valley and the Ten-Mile Range.  It is a great hike that can be modified to any length and is a great hike for photography.

Mayflower Gulch

Explore the impressive west side of the Ten-Mile Range and the Boston Ghost Camp (early 1900’s) on a gentle hike in the shadow of the towering, craggy, Pacific Peak.
