Aspen in Winter

Welcome to Aspen, Colorado!

The Town of Aspen is located at the base of Aspen Mountain (also known as Ajax).  Established in 1879 as a silver mining town Aspen became a ski resort town in 1949 and hosted the first FIS World Championships in 1950.  The Aspen Ski Resort is comprised of four mountains; Aspen Mountain, Snowmass, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk.  Each mountain has it’s own characteristics and offers visitors a unique experience.  Combined, the four mountains offer skiers and snowboarders 319 miles of trails and more than 5,000 acres of terrain!
