Adventure Paddle Tours in Frisco, Colorado offers award-winning guided sea kayak tours on Dillon Reservoir. Our tours are great for all ages and abilities and range from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours. There are two Dillon Reservoir Marinas. We operate out of the Frisco Bay Marina which sits on the more protected side of the reservoir. This less exposed section of Dillon Reservoir provides guests with plenty of sheltered bays and islands when kayaking Lake Dillon.
About the Kayak Tours
All Tours have a specific age limit. Please, follow those age requirements. Morning tours are always recommended over afternoons due to wind. If you have children, please, book the morning tours! We meet at the Frisco Bay Marina. Kayak tours launch throughout the day. Our earliest kayak tour the Island Tour, launches at 8 am, and our last trip The Sunset Tour launches one and half hours before sunset. Guests can expect to see Bald Eagles, amazing rocky mountain views, muskrats, deer, and on occasion moose!
Island Tour (Morning)
Our most popular tour to date! Our 2.5 hour Island Tour is the perfect trip for the beginner to get their feet wet. This tours paddles around the protected Frisco Bay with abundant wildlife, small islands and a protected shoreline you can’t ask for a better area to paddle. For the past 4 years, this tour has included a short stop near a nesting pair of Bald Eagles. Island Tour (Mid Day)
The Mid-Day Island Tour is our award-winning 2.5 hour Island Tour but is offered only on single kayaks and when there is a higher chance of wind. As a result, it may require more strength and ability than our morning tours. This tour can still offer all of the same wildlife sightings and experiences as the morning tours. The afternoon Island Tour is reserved for ages 14 and up. It is the same tour as the Island Tour but has a greater chance of encountering higher winds and rougher water.

Family Tour (Children Required)
This is a family-focused tour with discounts for children ages 6-12. This tour departs daily out of the Frisco Bay Marina. We will paddle through the Giberson Bay Islands heading towards the Meadow Creek Preserve. Here you will expect to see Ospreys, waterfowl, and the occasional Mule deer. Tour distances depend on the speed of the group. As many parents know children can be unpredictable, with that said this trip could be an hour and a half wildlife safari or a 2-hour splash fest.
This tour is designed for families with young children or families with more children than adults! With that in mind, please understand that the speed and distance of this tour is usually dictated by how well the children are doing. This is why groups that don’t have children are required to book the Island Tour.

Cancellation Policy
Please note, we will take guests out in less than optimal conditions. We do operate during intermittent rain. Breckenridge’s weather is not Frisco’s weather, even though they are 9 miles apart. We do require 24 Hour cancellation notice. Guests must cancel by email or text using our Self Service cancelation links at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time to receive a full refund. Self Service Cancelation links are attached in post-booking emails and your confirmation text message. Simply click that link 24 hours prior to your tour and you’re done.
We are not responsible for the following reasons for canceling within 24 hours:
- ALTITUDE SICKNESS
- Flight Delays
- Booked the Wrong Day
- Injuries

Adventure Paddle Tours, formerly Kayak Lake Dillon offers fully guided kayak tours and Standup Paddleboard lessons in Frisco, Colorado on Dillon Reservoir at Lake Dillon, and in Naples, Florida on Rookery Bay and the 10,000 Islands area.
Kayak tours and Paddleboard lessons are led by the most experienced guide staff ranging from Maine certified Sea Kayak Guides to Florida Master Naturalists and Colorado Certified raft guides. Kayak Tours range from the family-focused 1.5-hour family tours to our fully customized private overnight excursions. Paddleboard lessons and tours are led be ACA Certified Standup Paddleboard Instructors and provide an amazing vantage point, cruising through the many islands or paddling the always calm Giberson Bay on Dillon Reservoir.
Adventure Paddle Tours operates by special use permit through the Dillon Reservoir Recreation Committee.
