Colorado Sled Rental offers Snowmobile Rentals allow you to explore Colorado’s backcountry your way — unguided, unrestricted, unforgettable. From first-time riders to seasoned powder chasers, choose the sled that fits your style and ride at your own pace.

To rent a snowmobile from Colorado Sled Rides, you choose from three riding styles; Mountain Performance, All-Around Riders, or Entry-Level/Trail Friendly. We will match you with the perfect Polaris sled for your ability. Next, choose a full-day or multi-day rental. Finally, pick up your snowmobile at our Steamboat shop, where we will have your sled prepped, fueled, and ready with maps, gear, and safety equipment included.

Head out into Colorado’s best terrain — from Buff Pass powder fields to scenic alpine ridgelines. Ride at your own pace and create your own adventure.

About your Rental

Each unguided rental comes with a backcountry backpack, avalanche transceiver (beacon), shovel, probe, radio and damage coverage. Our professional staff will get you familiar with the snowmachine, give recommendations on where to ride and get you on your way. Come join CSR and learn what we love about snowmobiling in Colorado. CSR’s Steamboat location is not a ride from location, please plan to rent a trailer or bring your own. Must have a vehicle with towing capacity.

• We are not a ride-from location. If not booking a guide, please plan to rent a CSR trailer, bring your own, or select delivery. You must have a vehicle with towing capacity.
• A helmet is required
• Snowmobiles must be returned full with 91 octane fuel or be charged accordingly.
• Guests should also be well equipped to be in the backcountry. This includes having all the tools needed to make on-mountain repairs to the snowmobile, emergency supply kit, first aid kit, rope, fire starter, spare clothing, food & water, & proper backcountry knowledge. While Backcountry first aid and Avalanche knowledge is not required, it is very helpful to have when riding without a guide. If you do not feel comfortable with possessing all of the items mentioned above and nobody else in your group possesses them either, ride with one of our guides and learn how to ride alone before going out on your own.

What to bring

• We suggest a good pair of polypropylene style long underwear (top and bottom)
• Waterproof and warm snow boots and ski socks (polypropylene or wool, no cotton)
• Mid layers such as sweatshirts, sweatpants, and polar fleece
• Waterproof and windproof outer layers (ski or snow pants and jacket and gloves)
• Googles (snowmobile or ski googles are the best)
• Balaclava or face mask
• Phone / camera
• Water and snacks​
