White water rafting on the the Colorado River offers something for everyone, as a fun, splashy, and beautiful beginner whitewater rafting experience close to both Steamboat Springs and Vail. The Colorado River is perfect for the whole family. Depending on water levels, this section of the Colorado River is more of a wilderness float trip, with a few splashy class II rapids, just enough to make everyone laugh and squeal.

About this Rafting Trip

The Half Day rafting trip on the Colorado River is 5 miles and approximately 3 hours. The Full Day trip is 11 miles and approximately 6 hours.  We will provide lunch typically consisting of different types of fresh fruits, fresh veggies, tomatoes), fresh meats (ham, chicken, turkey), cheeses, dips, crackers, pita, or naan and cookies. Think of a picnic style grazing board. We will also bring extra water to refill your water bottles & sparkling water.

There are usually less crowds and better weather on Morning 1/2 day trips. (Afternoon thunderstorms & windstorms are a common occurrence in Colorado during the summer months). Guests typically see more wildlife on our AM trips.

If you have some adventurous folks in your group, we offer two-man inflatable kayaks (duckies) at no extra charge. Duckies can really make things more interesting and challenging. They follow the larger guided rafts down river, we all stay in a group, and there will be opportunities to switch between the larger raft and the ducky. Duckies are limited depending on river flows and availability. We try our best to have at least one available for every reservation. (You can look at the river and decide if you’d like to take an inflatable kayak once you arrive).
Come experience a scenic tour through the headwaters of the Colorado River today!
