Getting To Vail

Vail Village and the surrounding area at the resort are approximately 2 1/2 hours from Denver airport and 30 minutes from Eagle Airport.  The following are some suggestions and guidance on how to get to and from the airport.

Airport Shuttle

There are several airport shuttle companies to bring you to and from Eagle Airport and Denver Airport.  They can accommodate private groups, shared rides and your ski and golf equipment as well.


High Mountain Taxi

Serving the Vail/Eagle County Airport. Taxis accommodate up to 6 passengers.  They are also equipped with roof racks for additional luggage and skis. Rental Car

In need of a rental car?   You can pick up at Eagle Airport or Denver International Airport. Before you book your lodging, ask about parking.  Many properties do not offer free parking and garage parking can cost upwards of $20 per day.

Getting Around Vail

By Foot or By Bike

A pedestrian and bike friendly town, you can literally walk Vail Village to Lionshead in 20 minutes. You can easily stroll the heated cobblestone streets throughout Vail Village all winter long.  Fat bikes are seen zipping around town in the winter and during the summer, cruiser and E-bikes are available for rent.


Village Shuttle

Traveling between Vail Village and Lionshead is free, easy, and convenient regardless of the season. The Town of Vail Transit Department offers free shuttle service  for residents and guests.


Bus Service | ECO Transit

The ECO Transit services Vail, Leadville, Minturn, Eagle-Vail, Avon, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum.  Convenient schedules and ski and snowboard racks, this is the most affordable and reliable way to get to town.  Staying in Edwards?  No problem.  The ECO Transit is the bus service direct to the Town and can get you to the gondola in 45 minutes.  For up to date schedules and fares, schedule information can be found at www.eaglecounty.us/Transit/Schedules or download the app at transithub.com.
