Sherpa’s Adventure Restaurant has been serving Himalayan cuisine since it opened its doors in September of 2002.  Voted as Boulder’s Best Nepalese/ Indian restaurant from 2002-2023.

Boulder’s source for fresh, authentic, high-quality Nepalese, Indian, and Tibetan food, Sherpa’s make every meal to order so the food tastes fresh. Sherpa’s features an authentic, charcoal fired, Tandoor clay oven. In addition to our great food, enjoy a locally crafted Sherpa’s draft beer in our Traveler’s Library & Lounge and read about the Sherpa history we have on display.  Sherpa history and pictures, explore our expedition, trekking & volunteer trip booking opportunities. Sherpa’s staff is full of Sherpas (people from the Mt. Everest region) including chef Jangbu Sherpa, who has summited Everest ten times without supplemental oxygen.

Outdoor Dining & Reservations Recommended

Any time of year, Sherpa’s Adventure Restaurant offers outside seating on their quiet patio along Spruce Street in downtown Boulder.  The patio offers views of the Boulder Flatirons. The restaurant is only open for dinner and reservations are recommended during the summer and CU Football weekends!

Event Space

The second story of this quaint location has room for your private party. There is room for up to 40 guests, a private bar, sound system and buffet bar option.  Sherpa’s Adventure Restaurant is a wonderful location for your wedding reception, graduation party or corporate event. Sherpa Chai

Pemba’s mother would make him chai every day before school.  It is the same chai her mother’s mother made before that. This recipe has been integral to the Sherpa people that built their homes high in the Solukhumbu region of Nepal.

When Pemba was 16, he began working as a guide.  He carried baggage and food to the basecamps of Everest and others of the world’s highest peaks. Soon he was able to form his own trekking agency, Sherpa Ascent International.  Pemba lead tourists up peaks and on treks in Nepal, Europe and Africa. During each venture, he would leave his mark by donating clothes, time, and money to uplift the residents of each location. Pemba eventually made Boulder, Colorado his basecamp.   He has been directing and leading over 40 trips to Nepal over the past 15 years. In 2001, Pemba started Sherpa’s Adventurer’s Restaurant and bar. It was here the first gallons of his ancestral chai recipe were made, which evolved into the creation of the Sherpa Chai brand in 2015.
