Estes Park Tour Guides™ invites you to step into the quiet magic of Rocky Mountain National Park once the sun goes down. Guided only by headlamps and moonlight, we’ll wander along gentle trails and soak in the sights, sounds, and stillness of the alpine night. You’ll hear the wind in the pines, watch the stars emerge overhead, and feel the mountain air come alive in a whole new way. At our stargazing point, we’ll brew fresh coffee and hot chocolate on portable stoves—our treat—so you can settle in and simply enjoy the night sky.

This unforgettable experience offers everything you need for a safe and enjoyable adventure under the stars, including headlamps, cozy sleeping pads, blankets, and freshly brewed refreshments. This is an active experience, where hiking on an easy rated trail by headlamp for up to a mile. This trip’s physical activity is rated Low. Everyone should be capable of walking between 1-2 miles carrying a water bottle or backpack weighing less than 5lbs. At higher elevations, it is common to become short of breath walking.

Tour details

Meet at the Estes Park Visitor Center before your scheduled start time. If you desire we meet at your hotel before departing, inform us after booking. We depart promptly at your selected time and the route will be confirmed before departure.

You will follow us into RMNP in your own vehicle. Our guides will stay in communication with you via radios throughout the drive until you arrive at the trailhead destination. Please ensure you have at least a half tank of gas.

Group Size: Up to 9 adults | All tours are private unless weather has caused a reschedule for another group.

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early to sign waivers, use the restroom, and review the tour plan.
Weather impacts every outdoor activity, especially in the mountains. Your safety is our top priority. Our guides are trained to assess weather conditions—forecasted, upcoming, or current—and will make the call to cancel or reschedule if conditions are unsafe. Rapid weather changes are common in RMNP, and we rely on experience, park alerts, and real-time data to make the safest decisions for your group. We appreciate your flexibility and trust as we prioritize your well-being.
What to bring
  • Layers for wind, cold and possible rain or snow
  • Hat, gloves and Buff (neck gaitor)
  • +62oz water bottle(Nalgene/Hydroflask/Yeti) or Camelbak bladder
  • Water in your water bottle
  • Hiking Pants (not denim)
  • Hiking boots or supportive shoes(no open toe sandals)
  • Rain jacket or poncho
  • Personal camera equipment

Cancellation Policy

Customers will receive a full refund or credit with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Tours run rain, shine, snow, or sleet. If weather concerns arise, call at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule. Less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a reschedule or gift card.
