Dark Timber Trail

Tour details

The Dark Timber trail includes the Rocky Point and Bear Hollow trails, where giant cow parsnip crowds the path with its large, green leaves and delicate white flowers. Unique indigo monkshood blooms in special spots along the trail, and the wildflowers practically fight for space in the sunny areas. The trail climbs 1,000 feet in elevation before descending it all again, so you’ll get the full range of views—and a decent leg workout. Not up for it? The Rocky Point 1-hour ride still offers breathtaking scenery with much less of the climb.
