Getting To Winter Park

Winter Park is approximately 2 hours from Denver International Airport. Getting to the ski resort is it’s own adventure with direct train service to the ski resort from Denver! The following are some suggestions and guidance on how to get to and from the airport.

Airport Shuttle

A shuttle is easy to schedule with several shuttle service companies in Winter Park. They run affordable, daily shared shuttles from Denver International Airport.

Amtrak Snow Express

Experience the one-of-a-kind journey from Downtown Denver to the ski slopes of Winter Park Resort. The Winter Park Express, is a seasonal Amtrak train between Denver Union Station and the doorstep of the ski resort. Travelers can take the train on weekends between January and April. Departures are each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday— typically beginning in early January and ending in early April. Tickets for the 2023 season are anticipated to be available starting in late November or early December. Advance booking is highly encouraged, as this popular train tends to sell out.

California Zephyr

The legendary California Zephyr departs from Denver’s Union Station daily at 8AM. The unforgettable ride is just over two hours, and gives you a great opportunity to relax and check out the mountain vistas. The Zephyr drops you off in Fraser, with a free Lift bus stop just steps from the platform. Busses run every 30 minutes during peak season, and every hour in the off season.

Rental Car

In need of a rental car? Rental cars are readily available with advance reservations. You can pick up at Denver International Airport.

Getting Around Winter Park

Winter Park boasts a free bus service which serves most of town and the surrounding areas. There are several in-town transportation options, such as Alley Taxi, a local taxi service throughout Grand County. Additional transportation services shuttles to Rocky Mountain National Park, Ski Shuttles, Private Charters, Wedding Charters, Casino Trips and more!
